The Camarasaurus was the most common herbivorous sauropod in the North American continent that existed during the Late Jurassic Period (155 - 145 million years ago). Its scientific name means "chambered lizard". Its total length is 9-18m and estimated weight is 20 tonnes, but it is not as large as other sauropods of the same period, and that is why it is thought to have thrived so well.

Therefore, it was given the name "Plesiosaurus", which means "similar to lizard". It has a length of 2-5m and 32 cervical vertabrae.
