Between the front and back, each garment features a total of five Japanese goldfish with the distinctive coloring characteristic of the shubunkin variety. On the back is the blue flower that frequently features in artist Hakusan's work. The fish seem to be enjoying swimming playfully around in its shade, and are they...singing? Painted in the nure-egaki yuzen style, in which the design is worked while the material is damp. Its trademark features are its gradients and soft colors. Each garment is hand-painted, so the coloring always varies subtly. This is a unique item that will be yours alone, with not a single duplicate anywhere in the world.
