The wooden mold, one of the most important tools for Indian-ink manufacturing, is made of pear wood.
When soot, glue and fragrant materials are blended to make the ink, the mixture contains a lot of water. As the easy-to-carve wood is hard enough to maintain its shape even if it absorbs water, pear-wood molds have been used in traditional Indian-ink manufacturing.

Yumeginga pens are made of pear wood. Especially, "reused mold" items are the ultimate fountain brush pens, which are made from the wood molds used for the ink manufacturing. It fits your hand better and better as you use it, and its quality finishes on the finest details will make using it a delight.
Also, you can refill its (water-based) ink, and the vivid black ink is hardly washed away with water.

A perfect gift item in a paulownia box.
