Tokowakaya's "Ise Cotton Marine Tote Bags" are carefully hand-made one-by-one by skilled craftsmen completely within Japan.
The Ise cotton fabric is a comfy, quality kimono fabric has been woven painstakingly in 100-year-old Toyota looms.
This item's Ise cotton has been water-repellent processed, making for an ethical bag that aims to give you improved durability and water resistance.

Features a traditional textile with several hudred year old pattern of three stripes.
With a plain space between stripes, this is a beautiful plain fabric with wide width. If the threads are not correctly dyed, the plain portion would have uneven color, and so this is regarded as a luxury item in the past.
Tenugui fabric is dyed after the cloth is woven. However, this is pre-dyed, so is woven after the threads have been dyed.
The only Ise cotton textile manufacturer, "Ise-Momen", has Ise cotton patterns in traditional designs with novel colors that have been handed down from the Edo period to modern times to meet the needs of customers. These patterns convey the "essence" of the people at a certain period in time.
