[What is a Maneki Neko?] Maneki Neko originated in the Edo period and have since been widely loved as a lucky charm that brings money and people. When the right hand is raised it will bring you money and when the left hand it raised it will bring people. Also, it is said that the higher the hand, the further away it will attract people. The color of the cat also has meaning - white is said to bring you luck, red keeping disease away and black keeping evil away. Please keep your favorite Maneki Neko by your side and it will fulfill each humble wish.
[Yakushigama] Chugai Toen is the name of a kiln in a ceramic workshop pottery town with a history of more than 1,000 years - Seto, Aichi Prefecture. The Yakushigama inscription derives from the fact that there was a Yakushi Nyora shrine on Chugai Toen's grounds until around the end of the Edo period. Chugai Toen is an item brand that brings you modern "Japanese decorations" such as zodiac ornaments, Maneki Neko, Hina dolls, Gogatsu dolls, as well as auspicious and seasonal ornaments, made using unique Seto techniques passed down in the area since the Meiji period.
[Manpuku Joju Maneki Neko] Among Yakushigama's Maneko Neko, the "Manpuku Joju Maneki Neko" series is especially popular. The "magic hammer" held in its left hand is said to be a "hammer that strikes anything out that is desired" and is a treasure that brings good fortune which has been around since ancient times. The kitten is holding a fan. In Japanese "suehirogari" is an auspicious word as it means "spread out like an open fan" and also refers to offspring prosperity and prosperous business at the same time.
