Tsugarunuri is considered to be one of the most robust and elegant forms of lacquerware in Japan. In order to create its wide range of expressions, layer after layer of colored lacquer must be applied, from the base to the finish, and then dried, and further ground after that, making a total of 48 steps to complete of one item.
No less than one to two months is necessary to complete it, and in contrast to the hard look of the outer surface, its comfortable feel will fill you with a sense of mystery. You'll also love the unique sparkle of the lacquer's polished finish.
