[ZA18 steel]
VG-10 has recently become popular as a high-grade stainless steel. Despite being extremely durable, it is difficult to sharpen. ZA18 has qualities similar to VG-10 yet, as it contains cobalt, is even tougher and more durable than VG10, and has lasting sharpness.

[Damascus steel]
A steel material with a mottled pattern. This steel material is produced by mimicking the mottled patterns of swords that were made in Damascus, Syria. Three kinds of steel materials with different properties each have a different appearance, creating this mottled pattern. Several types of steel are rolled layer upon layer, creating a very robust blade.

[About the Japanese chestnut handle]
As Japanese chestnut is resistant to corrosion when heated, it has long been used for railway sleepers. The wonderfully durable handle of this knife has been made utilizing such a property.
