The clay used for the Tokonameyaki teapot has greater amount of iron oxide and this reacts with the tannin in the tea to decrease the bitterness and enhance the "umami".
Comes with a ceramic strainer with fine perforation.

●Handling Instruction:
Tokoname teapot surface will start to shine after repeated use. This is often mistaken for oil stains but the shine will not come off with detergent.
When the surface turns dark,​ wash with dishwashing detergent. The shine will return.
To avoid clotting at the spout,​ be sure to rinse with water and remove all tea remains.
