Maki-e Trial Class
Take up the challenge of Maki-e and experience the depth of its laquer.
In the center of Kyoto, near the Gyoen, lies Inui Shikki, a shop that deals crafted arts. At this lesson where you can learn the decorative lacquer techniques of Maki-e, you use colored lacquer and gold powder that is safe on the skin and then select your materials. As you learn about lacquer, you are sure to be impressed by its attractiveness and depth.
