丹羽阿樹子「遠矢」1935年

Akiko Niwa “Tooya”, 1935

Feel the charming power of Gajuku, the driving force behind Kyoto's art world,

“Gajuku”, or private painting schools have great influence and the industry stretches back to art in pre-war Kyoto. In this exhibition there is a collection of around 100 works that spotlight Gajuku, which has contributed so much to the modern art in Kyoto, such as Seiho Takeuchi's “Chikujokai”, Shunkyo Yamamoto's “Sanaekai”, Suisho Nishiyama's “Shokosha” and Insho Domoto's “Tokyusha”.
