Japanese traditional arts performance

Watch maiko dance from up close.

Yasaka Kaikan is next to the Kaburen theater in Gion Kobu, one of Kyoto's 5 hanamachi. Here, the seven Japanese tradional arts of kyomai, flower arrangement, tea ceremony, koto, gagaku, kyogen and bunraku can be admired in front of your eyes. In the lobby of the hall, there is a display of maiko hairstyles, hairpins, etc., which is free to visit.
