A wall hanging featuring a wedding oilcloth (or 'yutan') design. A fortuitous design that invites long life, relief dyed. The ground is dyed in indigo. 'Yutan' refers to a cloth cover, made of greasepaper, cotton etc., that is used to protect high-quality chests of drawers and other furniture used in weddings. The cover of a koto (a Japanese stringed instrument) and the cape worn by lion dancers are also referred to as 'yutans'.
