Supreme Shochu Glasses
Due to its sense of security and practicality which makes it comfortable to use, such as excellent thermal insulation and nodes that fit against the hand well making it easy to hold, bamboo has been used to make containers since ancient times. This Arita-yaki Supreme Shochu Glass which draws from bamboo as its inspiration is a functional, beautifully designed glass that brings out the flavor of shochu. After repeated trial and error where over 200 samples were made, an ultimate form which gained a seal of approval from liquor stores and breweries was finally arrived at.
① Rim - The rim is designed wide. It feels pleasant against the mouth and shochu tastes more crisp.
② Tilted design - The glass is tilted at an angle of around 75 degrees. Having this shape quickens vaporization of shochu and creates a mellow drinking sensation.
③ Glass base protrusion - Having a protrusion on the bottom of the glass improves convection and taste balance.
④ Glass body node - The node near the bottom of the glass body fits well in the hand and is easy to hold for an added sense of security.
⑤ Raised base - Having a raised base increases insulation against the heat and cold.
